Dan Levy Reviews Aercon & Autoclaved Aerated Concrete

When I first decided to build a Passive House, I decided to buy autoclaved aerated concrete from Aercon Florida, LLC.  This was a decision that I have never regreted .  AAC is the ideal product to build a Passive House with blocks and thin set morter create an barrier to air flow.  While all Passive Houses restrict air flow, Passive House requirements do not require resistence to termites, hurricanes, fires, floods, sound insulation, VOC’s, and earthquakes.  Low maintenace costs are also a bonus.

Homes That Will Not Burn

Autoclaved aerated concrete melts at 2900°F, but it does not burn.  The average house fire only reaches temperatures of about 1100°F.

Quiet Homes

Autoclaved aerated concrete has excellent sound reduction qualities.

Impact Resistant

See what happens when an piece of lumber hits an AAC wall at 80 miles per hour.

Flood Resistant

"Hebel Haus"
Single “Hebel Haus” is the only structure to defy the flooding of Japan’s Angry Demon River.

Save On Energy

Despite the flame, the other side of this 10cm wall (slightly less than 4 in) remains around 20 degrees centigrade (70 degrees farenheit).

Sleep Better

No Termites, Roaches, or Extermination Fees

You will sleep peacefully with the clean air quality, the perfect temperature, the perfect humidity, and the knowledge that you are safe from catastropic events and rising energy and insurace costs.

With solid walls, there is no space for termites, ants, mice, or roaches.  This not only saves you money by not having extermination bills, but makes life much more pleasant.
